On Wednesday the 13th of July, the APPG held its first meeting of the year, the topic was inequalities, looking at the causes and outcomes of inequalities in diabetes care and ways to address these going forward.
We heard from:
- Professor Wasim Hanif, Professor of Diabetes & Endocrinology, Consultant Physician, & Head of Service in diabetes at University Hospital Birmingham.
- Dr Joan St John, General Practitioner (GP) with special interest in diabetes, and is currently working as GP Clinical lead in Diabetes for an area of North-West London, UK.
- Helen Kirrane, Head of Policy, Campaigns and Mobilisation at Diabetes UK.
