Next week on Wednesday 3rd February the All Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes will be holding an International Diabetes Conference from 10am-4pm at the House of Commons.
This conference will be a landmark event in Parliament’s approach to raising awareness and sharing best practice of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This even is open to members of the public who are working in or have an interest in diabetes.
The conference will include keynote addresses by His Excellency Said Aidi, Minister for Health of Tunisia, Jane Ellison MP, Public Health Minister and Dr Petra Wilson, Chief Executive of the International Diabetes Federation amongst others.
The day will also include interactive workshops which will be led by some of the leading figures and organisations involved in diabetes care in the United Kingdom. These workshops will focus on:
- Variations in care and mitigating risks of complications
- Prevention, secondary prevention and lifestyle
Present at the conference will be Members of Parliament, clinicians and healthcare professionals, as well as charity and local government representatives.
